Hi,
I bought a T42 mb from a computer shop on ebay in order to fix my broken laptop. Did not realize it's bios password protected. Anyway, I found this website, read the instructions, did the wiring, dumped the bin file and then decoded the bin using ibmpass2 tool. (I must say, it's quite some experience when you can do this kind stuff. Great instructions!) .
In the end, I got the password, but when the computer booted up and asked for it, it just wouldn't take it?

Looks like a TCPA lock to me, but to be sure I must see the dump, email it at support-at-allservice.ro _________________ Victor Voinea

Thanks, I just sent it. hopefully I don't have to buy another mb.
Update: This is now fixed, after purchasing the writer license with the reset service. Fast and reliable service, I am impressed.
