Hi all! I am looking for a copy of bios package for CF30F. I have looked worldwide and all I can find is the bios files for up to CF30E . You can find the BIOS Packages for A,B,C,D, & E , But the F version seems to be either a custom build or something, because I cant find it anywhere.
Also, the earlier versions will not load. It is very different from the CF-29 , and Is there any way to just erase the password?

Sorry for ressurecting this thread, but the info here is really awesome!
Plus, I have a very similar problem.

Got a toughbook CF-30F (Mk2), bios version is 2.10L15.
I need to roll it back to 2.00L15 (and preferrably back up a current version too, since there is no update available).

I found the needed version here: https://panasonic.ca/english/customercare/sandd/softwarequery.asp
BUT the updater (BU30M2.exe) won't do anything to update bios, in fact it somehow can't recognize that I indeed have cf-30mk2 and says this: "This program can be used only for Panasonic note PC (CF-30mk2)". Might be there's a BIOS rollback restriction?

Any idea what the command line switches might be to "ignore" this weird mismatch?

Tried all of the -i -r -t, previously mentioned here: no go!
I would really like to skip desoldering and going with a programmer, unless I absolutely have to.

Just reviving this old topic. In my case I had an ex BT (british telecom) CF-27 toughbook alongside 2 motherboards from the same spec machine (also BT).

I built the password-bypass parallel connector and it worked a treat for the complete machine. I booted from a DOS disk and used ECROM and CMOS update disks to re-flash the ECROM and BIOS to remove all password protection. It also reverted the BT splash screen back to the OEM panasonic.

However...

The two motherboards won't 'see' the password bypass connector. I've tried terminating the +5v and GND to both the PS/2 port as well as the USB port and it just won't see it. It keeps asking for the boot password. Any ideas?
